Miso in my pocket

Stumbled upon this packet of miso soup when i popped by Plaza Singapura Daiso.
As it was during lunch hour, tummy is rumbling. Its a bad idea to shop for food when you are hungry!

image

I picked the packet up and tried to make sense of its contents. Visually i see the miso soup image, looked at the illustrated cooking instructions scanned through the ingredients.

Next i found myself joining the lunch time crowd payment queue of about 30 folks ahead of me.

Got to office, couldn’t wait to checkout the contents!

Overall, its a gratifying quick fix for miso craving!  Would be great to throw in some tofu! Yums! I know my miniature lady will love it too! Banzai!

Ah Boy first Church service

We have been wanting to bring baby Dru for service for the longest time! Today we managed to make it happen.

We got to MBS about 1230, boy fell asleep in the harness on wife even as Pastor Prince voice was blaring from the loud speakers in the almost empty hall for parents with babies. There were about 4 families when we stepped in.. By the end of service it was about 15.

He woke up after half an hour power nap and was full of energy.

Boy boy, starting solid food

Our little human Dru, is closing in to his 6 months. Mummy has started him with an intake of cereal together with one of his bottle feeding time.

Today I went out to buy a small tin of Nestle cerelac ( Brown rice and milk) as we had left our packet of organic cereal ( compliments from my SIL) at Dru’s grandma place.

image

image

Mummy prepares about 1 tablespoon of cereal for a start, it has been a week since little boy had his first taste of solid, he seems to like it.

Right now he is drinking about 150ml-160ml.

Nestle Cerelac, we found that its pretty sweet for baby. As we are comparing to the organic brand. I will post the brand later when I get my hands on it.

Wife says the Nestle taste like redbean.

I believe this will be first and last taste for Dru on this brand of cereal. He seemed to like it though!

Mother’s Day lunch – Thai Tantric

Happy Mother’s day to all mummies! My lovely sister booked this restaurant for our family to celebrate this special day for the 4 mommies.

Located at orchard towers, yes orchard towers! Tucked at one corner, this restaurant cooked up some pretty wicked authentic thai dishes!! I must say the space is pretty cramp, not very friendly for strollers and big gatherings.

Thick and clear Tom yum soup

Steam seabass. This dish was a bit on the salty side.

Overall food was quite mouth watering, certain dishes we find to sweet or salty.

Mouthwatering Bo Bo Cha Cha

In a nondescript food Centre -North Bridge Road Market and Food Centre. I happened to stumble upon this stall that sells hot dessert as well as simple dimsum like Chee Cheong fun, siew mai, soon kueh.

I noticed people queing and ordering bowls of creamy ochre looking soup overflowing with sweet potatoes from this shop. I soon found out it was Bo Bo Cha Cha.

I ordered a bowl for myself. It was indeed mouthwatering! Generous supply of sweet potatoes, yams, jelly, yes those chewy soft jellos!!  The ‘lemakness’ I find was just right, a bit on the sweet side though. Overall, awesome dessert for $1.80!!

White Beehoon in Toa Payoh

Our relatives from Kuching stopped over in Singapore after their holiday in Beijing.
On their last night of stay, we brought them for dinner. We decided on Hong Yun Seafood at Toa Payoh.

We had altogether a total of 16pax, which occupy 2 of their 5 tables within the air-conditioned room which I had booked 2 days in advanced!

Signature white bee hoon
3 egg spinach

yam basket

We didn’t had a big feast. Our total bill for 2 tables came to about $188. Our menu consists of:
– White Beehoon
– Yam basket
– Har Cheong gai
– Potato leaves
– Fried baby squid
– claypot toufu
– 3 egg spinach
– Fuyong egg

After dinner we stroll down to nearby Frozen by a thousand blessings

We ordered about $30 of yogurt to share and try! Lovely!

The cafe was empty then at about 9pm after our group step in, the room was filled with noise from my nieces spewing “OMG” and taking non-stop selfies! They were all so excited to see the varieties of toppings and the self-service yoghurt dispensers! Soon crowds began to flow in!

Hometeam NS Bukit Batok

Madame was having appointment around bukit Batok, so we checkout Home Team NS at Bukit Batok for lunch.

Its been a while since we last visited the clubhouse. Probably 3-4 years ago when girly first hit the pool and madame was coaching her swimming.

The clubhouse had gone through a facelift recently. We ended up eating at Saizeriya -Italian casual dining. The food was not fantastic, but provide us shelter from outside 178 PSI and generally food court price.

Mayer warehouse sales

Madame has been eyeing the kitchenaid mixer for the past few months. Yesterday when she saw the Meyer sale 23-25 October on Facebook, she was set to go for it.

The warehouse sale is at Toh Tuck Link. We got there about 2pm.

Our objective was to hunt down the $499 (advertised) kitchenAid KSM150.

Take a break go fishing

As this week is PSLE marking week, girly has been asking madame to bring her to the park to feed the fish.
As madame was at home with her yesterday, they ventured out to Bishan Park in the afternoon for some kampong playtime!
I was at work when madame sent me this picture. So jealous!:)
Glad girly had fun taking a break from studying and doing assesment papers.

Sunday’s Hainanese lunch

On Sunday somewhat past lunch time, we were around Cityhall area and our tummies hankering for food, I suggested nearby Purvis Street as I was yearning for chicken rice and chap chye!

10 minutes later we found ourselves inside Chin Chin Restaurant. The place was filled with sunday crowds and tourists, tables uncleared and boisterous chattering but all these adds to the ambience!
